as the title says how much of a task is this? obviously i know i wil need:

wings

bonnet

bumper

grille

slam panel

but is it just a case of bolt old off, bolt new on?

First of all, welcome to Club Polo! :-)

Secondly, it's not a straight swap. There's a massive amount of work to be done to get it to fit apparently. As far as I know there's only one user on here (ash) that's done it.

I'm not afraid to undertake the work, just want a rough idea on what exactly needs to be done before i go ripping the front end off a 6n

I've not done this.

Personally i'm not too fond of the mk5 front but love the bumper. My car runs a mk4 / mk5 hybrid bumper only

To do a mk5 (6n2) front end swap is easy but you need:

Bumper

Slam panel

Grille

Wings

Bonnet

Headlights

Indicators

Has been done on a 6n before a couple of times

if you are going to make this project real put 6n2 GTI xenon headlights...
