right i want a rollcage for my lil mk2 coupe!! mainly cos i want fiberglass doors from yoof

and i want it to look and act like a rally car!

OMP ones aren't supposed tyo be very good. They are apparently made with some pretty relaxed tolerances and often need modification to get them to fit properly.

I got a safety devices cage which was a perfect fit but I'm not even sure they do a cage for a polo anymore. I guess you could phone them up and find out.

Otherwise, there are lots of companies who make custom cages and one of these is your best bet. Probably cheaper than the safety devices one too.

TY tbh i only want to for Show! with a bit a strenght to them! so i can swop to fiberglass doors! tbh as it only £400 so it not to bad!

i looked up the options ages ago. omp cages are wank. have shit joints on the arch stays and diagonal. they fit baggy. i rang safety devices, they gave me a price of £750. they then went on to tell me how they had moved production to poland. and how some jigs had been lost in the transit. he then told me i had to buy a cage from an authorised safety devices dealer for VW's. and my mate bought one recently, which was shonky quality.

thats the main reason i am having a custom cage built to my own spec. same price as SD just about, better spec.

I wonder how much Protection & Performance would quote you? They make some pretty mad one-off cages for Landys...

umm ok so looks like my £1200 price braket do do car 4m start to finish has just doubled!!! :(

thats actually who I've chosen to do mine. i have been quoted for a good spec cage in CDS, fully welded in at FIA spec i have made a cad model of it myself. had a look round their place aswell and the work is absolutely mint. anyway, my cage is quite dear, but these days you get what you pay for!

as for building a full car for £1200, I've spent double that already and haven't got a cage or a proper engine in it yet

crist pinch!! most of the front end will become fiberglass! ie. wings bonet doors boot and berg cup arches!! that y i wnt cage! .. wudnt mind a g40 cup conversion 2! lol!

My dad had a cage made by these guys for his TVR race car he had a 6 point cage with door bars doublee cross brace and dash bar powder coated and fitted with all fixing points welded in for £650 and the quality is top notch!!
