Juddery Mk 4

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 1.6 cl on a R plate, it has a slight judder at lower speeds in normal driving, you can also feel it when 'cruising' at higher speeds. The engine is responsive enough and revs freely, its just the strange judder. Could do with getting it sorted as my Mrs is learning to drive in it and it puts her off!

Thanks

Not Sure, Only had it a couple of weeks, its got full history so will check! I wouldn't have thought it wouldn't have had one as its only done 84000, so possibly coming due for one. Would this have some effect on it???

Just Checked, no Clutch. It had a heap of work done by VAG last November along the lines of

New dizzy and arm, cambelt and tensioner, alternator belt, front wishbone bushes, rocker gasket, engine temp sender and calibrate throttle body and clean, cost a whopping £842, more than I paid for the car!!!

i was gonna suggest the throttler body but if its already been cleaned it shouldnt need doing again

i would suggest cleaning the Map sensor

Skodaboy, Thanks!

Ok, where is it located, what does it look like, what do I use to clean and how???

Many Thanks!

I have the same problem with my mark4, I've cleaned the tb and no difference, what I think it could be is the vaccum pipes underneath the tb, having a small hole or something. Could be the same thing here with your problem too.

Well what does the map sensor do???

Bump For the Daytimers!!!

No one???

Just been out in this and the judder is worse when the engine is cool and quite prominent aswell, it does ease as the car warms but by no means goes away!!

Just thought this may help!
