hi there as you can see from the title of this topic, i am the dummy. i just bought my mk2 1993 polo, and i wanted to lower it. can anyone please recommend what suspension kits i should get, i dnt want to lower the car to the extent that it kisses the floor.

Personally as an all round best kit I'd say the 60/40 HnR Cup Kit. Its in the top end of £200 (I don't know exactly how much) but its a very good kit, has a nice stance, comfortable to live with but still firm enough to chuck the car about. You can buy cheaper kits of PhilJ, there is alot of options as to what height you want from his kits and they are very cheap, even including delivery. However, they are very firm kits.

I went for my own mixture,it works very well,has done for years and tens of thousands of miles. I bought standard-replacement Bilstein gas shocks,and progressive-rate Ventura 40mm springs - both from http://www.eurocarparts.co.uk

It doesnt sit too low,but lower than a standard G40. The handling feels transformed,with lots more feel and grip,yet its smoother than original - factory quality. Speed ramps are no problem either,even the nasty ones. Not the sportyest set up,but a good compromise if you want some comfort.
