Amplifer Problems

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have just put an amp in the boot of my polo mk5 to power my 6x9s. I have ran the power from the battery down the passengers side and the RCA Cable down the drivers side.

As soon as I power my 6x9s in the rear from the amp i get distortion in the front speakers and tweeters.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

What kind of distortion? Fuzzing noise by any chance? I've had this on mine for a while, still habent figured out what it actually is!

More like a crackling noise that gets worse as you turn it up.

Hmm...What headunit is it? Have you checked the earth cable?

Its a JVC AVX800 the earth cable on the amp is fine. It worked fine before i ran the cables down the side of the car.

Phono leads? They plugged in properly? Swap the 2 phono leads round on the amp, may help.

Sorted, cheers guys!
