My new alloys have just come in and I dont know what tyres to get for them

I have got some cobra supaslots

they are 6 and a half inch X 13 with a 31 offset

i want the tyres to be very low profile and if possible over lap the tyre a little to stop me curbing

What size tyres am I looking at and roughly how much should they be as its the first time I am buying them.

175 50 13 have a look on mytyres.

Perhaps Continental SportContacts in 195/45 with rim protection would be a better choice.

when you say rim protection do they treat the rim or stretch the tyre to do that,

also out of these two different tyres which ones will look more low profile and over lap the rim more.

195= rim width........higher number is a wider tyre and a lower number i.e 165 is a skinnier tyre

45= tyre profile the lower this is the lower the profile tyre

You can't stretch the tyre and have a protected lip. Its physically impossible if you think about it. The reason the tyre is stretched is because its to narrow for the wheel. This will leave the lip of the wheel bare and if you kerb it, it won't be pretty. If you want to have a protected lip I'd say go for something wider than a 175 with a 'rim protector' on it.

as far as I'm aware a rim protector is just an extra bit of rubber on the tyre that sticks out so that it over hangs the lip of the wheel. So if you got into a kerb it rubs on the tyre instead of your wheel.
