Lad... Before I start giving out maybe its just mine but I think there crap... Got a set 2nd hand off a lad. There all LHD as I recently foiund out and they are terrible at night... Id almost call them dangerous to be honest. My electric headlight adjustment doesnt work at all and they seem to shine on the ground directkty infront of the car on dim beam. They look best outa any 6N headlight in my opinion but are bad for every day use or alot of night driving. Thinking about changing mine back or getting HIDS VEry soon...

quality is good in my opinion...fit jus fine from what i remember although u will lose the electric headlight adjustment if you have it

light output was fine with halogens and is spot in with HIDS...and if set right (slightly lower than usual) you wont blind people...

but are they straight fit? do i need any trimming or cutting on the front?

if you have electric headlight adjustment then they are direct fit!

if not a little rewiring needs doind but nothing major!

i loved mine without the HIDS and now i have them i love them even more!

look great!

i dont have electric adjustment.

i dont have electric adjustment.

then you need to chop off the plug that goes into the drivers side headlight and re wire it onto the loom discarding the 7pin plug on the loom and use onlt the 4 wires that match up to the original loom wires!

i did it on mine, if you want any more info pm me mate and i will dig out some pics i took and which wires u do and dont need! 8-)

Hey chrispy... My polos a late 99 model so has electric headlight adjustment. Powerlook lights were a straight plug in job in the end but now my electric adjustment doesnt work... Seems like there just shining on the ground infront of the car. Could I get the adjusters working with a little re-wiring???

Quick question - Would a garage that does normal RHD headlight adjustment be able to adjust mine so they'd be any better?

the ones you need off the 7 pin loom are

Brown = earth

white and black = main

yellow and black = dip

grey and black = side

wire them accordingly...

yellow = yellow/black

brown = earth

white = white/black

grey = grey/black

What bulbs do these things take? H7's?? Gonna get a HID kit for the set I've just ordered but I want a temp bulb of descent quality?

I've heard philips x-treme are pretty good??

or philips Power Blue??

I'm lookin for a blue bulb to simulate HID until I can afford a HID kit.

Cheers

Luke

Yeah H7's.

Personally I wouldn't bother spending £20 on a pair of xenon-style halogen bulbs if you're gonna buy HID's anyway (can get high quality kits from the likes of HIDs4u from as little as £99 now :shock: )

But if you do want decent halogen bulbs then go with something like these.

Remember you'll need a second pair of bulbs for the high beam.

  • 1 year later...

I've just had mine through the post and i got a loom with it..the thing is on the new loom theres a 7 pin block connector and on the car loom it is tottaly different..any 1 had this problem??

I like mine. Fit fine and work fine.

With decent bulbs they illuminate alot better than standard lights in my opinion, though i might invest in HID or similar in the future..

They are LHD though so beam pattern is messed up.. dont know if this can be adjusted on certain models or not..?

Mine passed the MOT with them anyway.

Got a question, if you had a set of rhd angel eyes (ones with seperate indys)that are fubarred but the glass is ok could you use th oven method and swap the glass over to some power looks? Thus makng them RHD???

Nope

Both lights have clear glass, the beam pattern is set up via the internal reflectors

I believe you can swap bits around inside the headlights though, think someone posted about it a while back?
