As you just said, if you loose your car you will loose your job. I have heard of the same thing and people having a case, speak to a solictior is the best thing to do.

You could cycle 7miles :) hehe, only kidding. Do what the others have said, say your job is dependant on it.

I'm assuming as you mention the 2 years that you are going to loose you're license due to 6 or more points in your first 2 years of driving?!

If this is the case then you will have your license revoked, not technically a ban, and you will have to redo your test etc.! The issue with the revoking is that there is no right of appeal against this. You're only chance/choice is to appeal the offence that you got the final 3 points for.

Do you know where/when you were caught and what speed you were doing?! It is possible due get the 3 points reduced, as has already been mentioned get yourslef to either the Citizens Advice Bureau or onto pepipoo.com.

Sorry thats not much help but hope its clarified a couple of points!

try and drag the process out by asking for proof it was you driving etc, if you drag it out long enough they might even give up with trying to process the fine (dont ask how i know this!) it might at least get you through the two year probe period, but i dont know if the will back date it or not? best thing to do is not speed! or if you do insist on speeding, do it where you can get away with it! I've always found this approach works well oh and the other top tip is if you dont know the road dont speed!

my mum could have lost her licence but protested that her job was dependant on her car, she ended up with a 5-point and £300 fine i think, took her points up to 11!!!

better than losing the licence though

Draging it out will not help. Points go on from when the speeding happened

My cousin got stopped doing 110mph with 3 points on his license and a previous 2 year ban...he needed his car for work...pleaded guilty etc at court and they gave him a 3 week ban and £300 fine.

I chat on this forum quite a bit, friendly bunch. 5ive-o ooool did I mention that the police, lawyers and judges use it as well.

Go on to the motoring section and ask the same question, the information you'll receive will be very interesting and should cover all your options imo.

i was in court this morning and the guy before me got done doing 111mph on the M6, and as he needed his car for his job got 6 points, £1600 fine, and a 6 months tag so he cant go out between 10pm and 7am!!!

hey thats a damn lot better than not having a car though isnt it ...

Well i love my car i need it . Its a price i would pay ..

True it is, just no social life haha. I would have preffered that myself to be honest, apart from the 6 poitns bit

I'm sorry but I'm gettin pretty annoyed with folk gettin let off with stuff just on the basis that they need a car for work. I need my car for work, but iv had my licence revoked and I'm paying the price, have to get a bus every morning at half 5 to travel 35 miles to get in work for 8.

I'll tell you one thing, it fairly gets a message into your head, when/if i eventually get my licence back ill be driving alot more sensibly than i did before.

But the fact of the matter is StevieDavidson, you were caught speeding, you should get the same as anyone else in my opinion 3 points and a fine. But if you do want to try and get out of it try this, is anyone else insured to drive your car? because if someone else can drive it, and you say you dont know who might have ben driving at the time there is a slim chance you can get off with it, because you cant get charged with something you haven't done.

Nope its too late now man .. I am facing the same problem as yourself .. I am going to have my licence revoked .. I have till the end of the weekend to drive my car .. Sucks hey ..

Oh well .. true it will teach me a lesson ... I reckon i can get my licence back within a month and a half . Going to send off for a provisional asap...

Get myself down to the theory test centre ...

Spose it will give me a couke of months pay to sort the car out nicely with no petrol cost ext ...

I just wish i could get it all sorted out before Billing Aquadrome .. the poloshow ..

L plates and a mate could be the only hope of getting it there ..

Il have to look on the bright side .. a lil exercise and spare cash to tinker with the car will do me good ..

I will be driving with eyes in the back of my head after this escapade i am sure ... Sunday Driver Stevie .

Worst thing is iff i had been caught litrally 2 weeks later i would of just had the points and fine ...

how do you think i feel? I was doing 5mph. I realsied just how dangerous the roads are last night when i went on a drive to clear my head. Thoguht why they hell do i want to drive anyway look at all the tossers on the road haha. Esepcailly those annoying ones in the wrong lane at traffic lights eding over the line to get in front of you.

Well £2k Solicitor bill is worth you are job and you are life and you are POLO!!!!!!!

At this stage, you're talking an hour or so for one to help you draft a reply. Under £100.

We had a lad at work hit 12 points, and a license really is essential for us, he got the boss to write a letter and got away with no points. Just a £3000 fine jawdrop.gif

Ahhh .. oh well ... the 2k i would of spent on a solicitor can now be spent on the car ..

Luckly i have no ban it will just take me a month or two to get my provisional and then take my theory and test again .

I'm confused tho will i loose my no claims bonus with it being 2 years ??

Can i just not tell my insurance company anything and just not drive the car .. cant remeber iff you have to tell them ure driving licence no or not ...

You need to inform your insurance, because at this time, you don't have a full license, and because you have to tell them about convictions.

Depending on what they're like, they may not charge any different until your renewals up.

don't you have to sit one of those extended practical tests?
