hardner n thinner for 2k paint?

just wondering if i was to try n respray would i require thinner and hardner for 2k paint? and could anyone give me any indications on how much to mix of each including the paint?

you need activator (hardener) and thinners to spray any 2k. For the colour coat it's usually 2 parts paint to 1 part activator and then about 10-15% thinners depending on temperature and personal preference.

To be sure, you should ask the bloke in the shop you buy the paint from and it'll probably also tell you on the tin of paint you buy how much other stuff to mix in and what size spray gun that mixture is suitable for.

can we just not ask him to mix it for us, or is that pointless.

no because if you put the activator in it will go hard before you use it just ask for some mixing cups they have the marks on the side to show you how much you need of each

yeah when you put the hardener in it starts a chemical reaction which hardens the paint, so you only get a certain amount of time to use it. So when you do get the paint, only mix the amount you will use right away and leave the rest separate.
