basically i took my car a while back to have gearbox changed

because i window was electric n he'd taken battery off they had my driver window down so they could push the car in n out the garage while gearbox was off for a recon

while car was outside the skies proceeded to absolutely piss it down

my clocks got wet n now my speedo, fuel gauge dont work

I've been quoted £40 for some new dials but I've been told that they may need reprogramming into the ecu as they work as part of the immobiliser....the person who told me this is a mate of mine...he works at audi but is also known to be full of shit

and also it might be important to get dials with a similar mileage to what my car already has...

can anyone shed any light on this please?

I'm hoping its plug n play, old dials out new ones in

on the mk4 it should be plug and play mate...no ECU link...thats the newer VAG stuff IIRC

the mileage will however be stored on the clocks...so you may want to get the new clocks 'adjusted'

yeah the mileage is on the clocks,,,,I've had all mine out recently,,,fairly easy to replace matey.
