Need help on wheels and suspension

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls, I'm looking to lower my 2001 Polo 6n2. Its a black 5dr model and i am looking for a set of Black BBS RS or RM wheels or possibly a black set of 6n2 GTi alloys. Firstly i would appreciate suggestions on size of the wheels and suggestions on how much i should lower the car considering i have lots of speedbumps in my neck of the woods.

Also rough costings if anyone has done similar. Cheers, Tim.

personally i would go for 195/45 15s on a 40mm drop. i find any lower and speedhumps and pot holes become a big prob.60mm drop would look very cool though

well the common bbs rm and rs are 15" in vw fitment. they are 6.5 inch wide as standard, this the rs may be 7inch wide. but you can widen the out to any width up to 8's and use a 195/45 easily. some people use the same tyre on wider but it can be a bit stretched. it is 4 stud aint it at that age? :?

I've got my 6n2 GTi on 195/45 x 15's on 7J wheels and it's lowered 60mm. I have no problem with speed humps at all, I just slow down for them.

When time and money allow I'm going to get the arches flared and drop it another 15-20mm, will look soooooo sexy imho :-D

Sal. x
