Larger Battery than stock?

Featured Replies

this 36AH battery is frankly scary, I'm constantly worried that my car wont start up after having my system on, even with the engine running, so i was wondering what size it the diesel battery? or even better what are other people running and what is the biggest i can fit under the bonnet? I'm looking for 75AH minimum really, and I'm not bothered if its sealed ect, just has to perform and be cheap! Car is a 6N

Thanks alot! Rob. :)

1.1kwrms drawing around 115 amps. Its enough to bring the revs down from 2000rpm to 1600rpm on big bass drops. And I'm looking to add another amp for the front speakers which will draw another 30-ish amps.

Call me an arsehole but unless this is a show car what is the point?

surely you need a more powerfull alternator first?

Diesel Battery...I'm sure that you don't need to fiddle with the alternator but they are huge in power

Try an Optima Yellow Top Battery,or stick in a split

charging system and put a 2nd battery in the boot.

Been looking at batteries today, motorworld bloke tried to sell me a power cap. i told him where to shove it. I might try a yellow top but I've got a feeling its going to be too big size wise and hurt the wallet. I've been thinking of split charging aswell, but cant really be bothered with the hassle of the wiring if i can fit a decent sized on under the bonnet, I'm not going to be booming with the engine off much anyways so i dont need 110+AH really.

The diesel batteries are only 60odd AH with 400 something cranking amps will this be enough?

I have a 75Ah with my 1.9 diesel which I have upgraded from the 60Ah it had when I bought it. But the new battery fits exactly and my mechanic had to cut out the lip of the battery tray for it to stay...
