1.4 16v Brake Question

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I'm trying to get new discs and pads for the gfs car and wanna make sure Ill order the right ones.

On GSFcarparts theres 2 different discs for the 16v polo:

BRAKE DISC-VENTED 256mm (PN: 60175)

BRAKE DISC-BREMBO'MAX' (PN: 60175F)

How do I know what ones this car needs? Are they just wider discs or ventilation or are they all ventilated? haven't got the car with me so cant run out and check.

Is it also worth doing the rears at the same time? Its 1997R so I'm right in thinking it doesnt have ABS which came in in 99?

Thanks for any help

Stuart

So what is the difference with the 2 discs that I mentioned in my first post. They both say they're for the 16v polo. I'd imagine its thickness and the calipers. Think I need to take a good look at the car to get a better idea and find out if its got abs too.

Brembo Max are a performance item.

jus two different brands... one will be some OE manufacturer and the others Brembo

they'll both fit

Ok so as long as I get the corresponding pads to match the discs itll all be fine. Has anyone tried both? Is it actually worth getting the brembo discs and pads?
