HOW DO YOU CLEAN CAR SEATS?????

Featured Replies

Right i bought a mk4 and the inside is a right mess

Now the seats have loads of shit and stains on them which won't just vac off

I have tried to use some foam and wash them with water but I still have the same stains

Anyone got any good methods or products I can use to make them look clean

(and please don;t suggest seat covers)

errr... seat covers?

kiddin i've got quite a good wee spray, foamy thing called 'instant valay' ye it is quite a cheap one  but keeps mine in good nick.

you usually get what you pay for when it comes to this sort of thing. i would get sumfin fairly expensive thats made for bad stains. any old one wont get the job dun as you probably already know.

or you could always get a valet? my mum just got her mk3 golf done by a guy and looks well good. cost like £45 tho!

if only u lived near me I'm a freakin car valeter!.

well bestr thing 2 do if ther really dirty is get a clean bucket get some upholstry cleaner from autoglym or some1 like that and a little tar and glue (if ther are any oily stains) mix it up with hot water.........get a sponger and sponge over all the seats gettin them nice n wet (DONT BE SHY WITH THIS) then get a good rough brush and scrub..........then go over the seats with a hoover that can accomodate sucking up water and extract the excess water.

my mates seatrs in his mk3 golf wer so dirty they wer actually shiny!!!! i done this and they came up mint plently of elbow grease!!!

I use my mums VAX to clean my seats, gets rid off all that hidden dirt :-D

fucking hell dougy,,,they must be caked man,,,my 16v were quite bad and that foam stuff brought em right up,,,

Padded leather-effect seat covers. Or pink lambswool seat covers.

Or do what i did when i got my car - take them off and put them in a 30oC wash. Be aware that this takes ages, care, and isnt something that can be done regularly - bit of a one-off. But they come out as new.

Autoglym interior shampoo and lots of elbow grease and spare time thats what I did to my interior

Took me ages but has come up looking something like now
