If you have a GT just fit a GOLF AFM and attempt to set it up yourself

If you are sucessful and did it wrong like me then you will use £10 fuel to get 30miles

And fuck me did it flame

Or you could accidentally get your 1.0, 1.4 and 1.8 throttle bodies and injectors mixed up and realise you are running a 1.8 injector on a 1.0 throttle body.

jez that pic:|! Is that the engine? running no manifolds? :o :o

     @ Tim

Thats the rear of the car

:-D  soundas like a plan lol

Couple it with no cat, no midbox and a de-baffled back box and you get the general idea

is taht preety mucha streight through pipe then?

Yeah. Not too loud under part throttle surprisingly. But it fell off

And when you booted it the noise was pretty sweet. Now I'm on a near standard system. Too quiet :(

lol what injector will fit stright in then? as i quite like teh sound of genuine flames lol and also how do your emove the baffle out the rear can

My mate who helped me weld up the home made exhaust setup did it. Cut the box apart, stripped it and welded it back together. If your car is a 1.0 then just get a 1.8 injector from a scrappy and bolt it up lol. Serious, serious overfuelling

no its a 1.3 but i got plans the in volve dump valves :ninja:

Just install some nos then itll flame ahaha you even get a nice shiny red button on your steering wheel to press! haha

so you thinking about a turbo then?? 8-)

Brings back memories of one race meeting when the carbs started flaming on my dad's drag bike...

The nitrous bottle was empty and the controller at the time wasn't very intelligent. Ignition and fuelling setup for having shit loads of nitrous - only there wasn't any going in

well i said dump valveS and you said A turbo so nope I'm never happy with just one lol

there is a sound i wouldn't mind and i have heard it a few times now

First I thought it was the wastegate thing on turbo cars which makes them sound like jets. like a screamer pipe

But speaking to a mate whos car used to do it and he just said his bafflers in his exhaust had gone yet it sounded so fucking nice under acceleration.

Any idea how you can get this jet noise@???

do what tobyk has done on his old zorst and remove the baffeling by grindind all the way round the rear can and then remove baffeling then reweld up...

It sounds quite tinny/raspy though. Probably not the exact sound he's looking for. You can get those gay whistly things that sit in the exhaust, maybe your mates car had one of them?

is a tinny noise good? as surely that would just sound liek youve got a hole in your exhaust

It's more raspy than tinny. But at high revs it does sound a bit tinny. Probably the engine running out of puff

erm..maybe post the item number as some ebay links dont work and your is one of them

Thats a bit shit!

Item number: 150117841896

haha that would be hilerious lol think it would be cool at some traffic lights if you had a huge engine in some stealth machine 8-)

lmao. Could just imagine the huge cloud of smoke covering the traffic lights!

Then again, i had a diesel that could pour smoke out the exhaust and that was standard. Just knackered!
