low profile on steelies?

Featured Replies

I'm planning on lowering my 'loon. but as I'm young, and poor, i wont be able to afford alloys for a while. so do you think low profile tyres on steelies will be ok? i dont want them stupidly low profile. just something so it doesnt feel like the tyre is going to fold over and off the wheel.

cheers

if you are running 13" steels get 175/50/13s they about £50 each tho, but if alloys did come up cheap u can use them on any 13" wheel upto 8" wide.

low pros look better than ballons

Also, keep your eye out for cheap alloys on eBay- try looking outside the normal vee- dub wheels. Try googling retro rides pcd to find a well useful pcd list thingy for different cars, so you can find other cars with 4x100 pcd, so you know what to look for. Vee- dub ones are always well expensive :(

I got a set of beemer wheels (14") for £16 though :D

Steelies with standard rubber will be fine for a sensible drop anyway

but i dont want it to feel like the tyres are gonna fold over.
