the engine is pulling about 160hp but more are expected as i am porting a new head and going to convert it to mechanical valve drive :)

some other stuff will be added and improved, i want to reach for the 180hp with G40 compressor ;)

nice mate, right lookin minter!

my fave zorst the letterbox! I'd say get smaller profile tyres for the rims, but I'd guess the roads are pretty tough over there so it would be silly to, some nice other lookin cars in the pics, whose are they

nice one, a few european g40s coming out of the woodwork.

Just out of curiosity, who services the g-laders in portugal, or do you send them somewhere else? always been curious

thanks dudes, the only thing i would do about the tyres would be getting some advans 048s as the loss of grip is a serious problem lol

ross, i know some really nice mechanics here in portugal that work almost only on G40s for living and their knowledge is awesome, no need to ship our loaders overseas :)

good stuff mate, keep it up

the black colour coding really looks good

super nice car, love the look of it!

the wall shot where it is parked under a the wall is wikid!

kep it up!

Nice car mate,

what part of portugal is that? looks like obidos castle?

Good move converting the valves btw..

Looks very nice :D

Looks really good! nice one

i like that alot! looks nice n shiny! lol

looks very very nice and clean, nice

Love the look of those bumpers n arches, nice work! :)

yesterday changed the compressor pulley as the one that was there wasnt mine... so i mounted a 58mm pulley, I'm doing ~1.5bar now with RS3 prep 8-)

58mm

btw tnewson, those pics with the castle are in montemor, not in obidos ;)

lol ok cool :D

i was born around there so thought maybe at a whim!

How often do you rebuild/over haul the supercharger with a 58mm pulley?

I would not run a pulley smaller than 65mm...you must be a little crazy :retard::lol:

Surely you mean 68mm?

Edited by Tav

lol it seems that u guys are not used to go lower than 65mm lol :-D

we dont play here in portugal ehehe, there are some G40s runnin on 54 and 55mm compressor pulleys... we have some tricks for the G-loaders to last very long time under the stress of small pulleys 8-)

I've been runnin for for almost 10000km with 61mm and the compressor is as good as new :-)

Do you use V-belts (like the standard items) or change to a toothed belt? Belt slip must be an issue on such a small pulley.

Would you care to share some of your tricks?

With a 65mm pulley the charger is spinning at ~12000rpm...I think that is fast enough

yes I'm using vbelts, but because the pulley is so small i have to use smaller ones than the standard so that i can fasten more the belts. the slip is an issue on higher rpm's like above 6000-6500rpm, but until there, since 1000-1500rpm in any gear, the response is astonishing :-o

i wish i could afford toothies but quite a lot of guys have tried to do those over here and the pace between the pulley tooths arent the same in the 3 pulleys, so the belts have very low life expectancy... and besides, the fact of the alternator pulley catch so little % of the grip due to its location (if u know what i mean) it starts to eat up the tooth belt :?

i have a friend of mine that works on hydraulics engeneering and he came up with an idea that we could somehow manage the oil pressure that goes to the g-loader and reduce it so that the oil sealants dont suffer so much and there is still much oil to lubricate the g-loader shaft... its an alternative to the separate oil system that psd does but much cheaper, and still does the same pressure, about 0.2bar at idle and 0.6bar at 7000rpm :-)

there are quite a lot of G40s running 1.5bar and above with micro-pulleys (as we call those here ehehe) and no problems whatsoever 8-)

and btw, the sound of these micro-pulleys is great :thumbsup:

your mad lol.

your mad lol.

am not

here it is... does that look like a 68 pulley? :-D

hpim012edgb5.jpg

ihihihi

And that also shows your oil pressure regulator for the G-lader?

yes.

btw, mounted yesterday new belts and streched them as a MAN

the power is i press the throttle is instant and all way up to the 7000rpm... its insane :badgrin:
