Yeah Borbet A, azev do some wheels similar, not as dished though.

you can get borbet a's in 15" and some replicas in 14". maybe genuine ones too but not sure. german ebay is full of em normally. :-D

the tops of the rear wheels on that car would literally be inside the boot!

And obviously that squareback has no rear suspension. So at least the wheels can't rub on it.

I always think squares look coolest dumped on GT steels. Just as a certain piimpness about them!

If only I could find GT steels for sale up here. I dunno about you but I think squares look good on 6n steels without the centre caps as well, that's what I'm on at the moment but finding the wider ones is a right bitch. I want fucking 175s! And I can't fit 175s ona fucking 4.5" wide wheel!

Well i think the first step,to that photoshop above,is getting the size right. It'd have to be a 6x15 with an offset of et35-40,and some dish. ATS 7x15 Cup are closest,but you'd never get them under there,due to the et25 offset and extra inch. And i doubt the 5.5x15 Classics would give anywhere near that look - though you could probably slam a breadvan on them 60mm.

I know Rare did a 7x15 with a 5in dish - the spokes were almost in the back of the rim. Would be interesting if they did narrower ones.

Steel are another option. Chrome plate them,then paint the centres black.

But i think 14s could get the look. And there are far more alloy 14s at the required offsets and width. But not with such a rim.

One other thing. The rear arch isnt that flat. If that rear wheel really was in that position on a real car,the top of it would be pushing out the rear quarter panel. It wasnt a problem for 3dr Novas because the ridge above the arch was so much higher,giving more inner arch clearance. This could even give the ATS 5.5s a problem,though i cant work out exactly how much wider than a 4.5in steel they'd be,as i dont know the available offset for this wheel.

13x6 ET20 Classics on a 80/70 bready.

Went a bit lower, that was literally after I had just dropped it off the jack and drove it round the front of the house.

i MIGHT have a set of GT steels for sale soon when i get my alloys back on. Don't hold me to it tho as you know how plans change.

smaller sizes don't have hardly any dish though, and are often 4 X 98 fitment.

Those wheels are 100% Borbet A's i have just had a set fitted to my Polo but it rubs like a C***!!!! i wouldnt reccomended the wheels unless you are going to have a massive stretch and neggy camber on the back. oh and an account with you local tyre garage as i have gone through 4 tyres on the rear in a month!!!

I'm aware that this is an ancient post but i'm hoping you can help me if you're still on here :)

I was thinking of getting these wheels for my Mk2 bready.

Do you think it'd still look high if it was lowered 60/40 on those wheels and did you have any trouble fitting them eg. rear arch work etc.?
