i've got this set up and was (on the car when i got it) i want to know how to higher the ride height

is it a mk4/6n polo?

if it is and thats the rear strut, you will need to take the whole strut out, disassemble it then there will be a ring thats under that silver plate atm ans move it to the groove above.

The easiest way to prise the ring off is using a set of needle nose plyers and opening them up in the small gap. Then get a mate to pop the ring out of the groove using a flat head screw driver (avoid nasty nips if the ring slips).

It can also be done using two spanners if you don't have needle nose plyers. You need to put each spanner in the small opening and rock them against each other to lever the ring open...it's a little difficult to explain. Hopefully once you get the strut off and remove the silver part you'll get a clearer picture.

Make sure if you are adjusting it by more than one increment you don't let it fall into a groove in between the original groove and the intended groove...just gives you more work.
