I purchased my Polo last year from an independent trader (well, that's the polite terminology . . . .)

On the info I had to send off to the DVLA, it had his name and business address. I know that there were another coupld of owners previous to him having the car briefly but they are not named on any of my documentation.

I have been having serious problems with the car and it is now obvious that there are discrepancies in the service history that I have been given by the trader. In fact, Trading Standards are looking into it on my behalf.

I have been advised to try to find out who the previous owners were so that we can best ascertain the history of the car. How do I go about doing this without having to pay one of these services that claim they can do this for you over the 'net??

i think you could go VAGS and asked them for some information on your car, it should have times/dates and what services was carried out throughout the times it has been in the dealers. dont know if that helps

Do DVLA offer this service ?
