negative camber

Featured Replies

Is there a way to get a bit more negative camber on a mk3, or just a case of lowering loads?

I do like the mean look it gives plus better handling :)

no you need either adjustable Track control arms or top mounts. having lots of camber doesnt necessarily make for good handling, and you'll scrub the inside of your tyres off in no time

How easy is it to adjust the track control arms? is it just a few bolts to undo?

And what about the rear, can they be adjusted.

I don't want stupid amounts of camber, just a tiny bit

Nah you actually need adjustable TCAs. You could make some up if you had the time...

As for the rear I don't know? The beam axle is solid, yet when Mk3s get slammed really low they always seem to have mad camber. So if anyone can enlighten me?

hmmmm

making some...

enlighten me :D

Top mounts is the easiest way, they tend to be a little pish from what I've heard from peoples expereience.

PM Stanton on ED38 he can supply you with Camber shims

What can you do to the top mounts? Need to get new ones or something?

G-laderseite make castor/camber adjustable top mounts

camber shims on the front of a mk3? or did you mean rear? i have 1mm castor plates on the back of mine.

adjustable TCAs on a mk3 polo are bad news. you get to the point where you need proper competition driveshafts otherwise you end up spitting standard ones out. alot of 205s suffer from it.

on the front struts you can cut them in two and weld on some plates that bolt together that allow camber adjustment. you can also weld up the mounting holes on the chassis legs and redrill them.

he only does golf mk 1/2/3 camber shims, i asked for my beeza

and they're rear only from stanton, but at £20 you cant complain

mk2 golfs (more than likely mk1-3 are the same) have the same stub axles bolt pattern as polos so will fit.
