Yep i remember, i hadnt been on the road long and was still brinding it clear on bumps and cats eyes. How come you didnt take your polo?

My mate and i were shocked at the amount of people that pulled up and waved, put there thumbs up etc.

last minute decision to camp over rather than travel up sunday - wanted to get there quickly so took the S3 !

It was a quality weekend, glad you ended up camping next to us.

Car is stunning, low as you like I was eager to look underneath it when I first saw it but I quickly discovered I couldnt even see under it!

I'll add some more pictures when i get round to uploading them.

Its now had a new cv boot as it pulled the old one off as its too low. I took it all apart to fit the lowering caps only to find they are way smaller than the stds and didnt fit for toffee. So while i had it all apart i pulled out the inner wings a bit more to clear the strut and took 1/4 of a coil off the front to try and level it up. It looks better, but still no 100% level, so i need to do some more work.

I was having issues with it loaded up on the way to the polo show, so i went for the old trick of adding more air into the tyres to gain some clearence, it worked a treat and it just clears most cats eyes now

The front wheels have now rolled my arches too, saves me a job :-D

I got my drivers side arch spat and cleaned and fitted that at the campsite, so at least it all matches now.

The paint inperfections are bugging me so much, they arent that bad really and only notice close up if you're looking hard, but i know they are there. So if i ever have some space or another offer of a paint shop for a day i will re do it, but this time i'll paint it all.

It went for its MOT and flew through with no real issues, well apart from it running rich, but i knew that and will get round to sorting it at some point.

All solid under here :)

lovely polo mate. i'm liking the army base photo's too. :) if it were me i'd have got carried away and gone for army green or even camo. lol

i've just bought mk1 polo in the same blue as your other one. it was gonna be a fix up and sell on, as i've got all on with my mk1 golf, but seeing these pics makes me wanna keep it. i love mk1 vw's.

Cheers Tom, really appreciate the offer . Glad you like my orange one, the paint is still bugging the hell out of me. It is unfixable to my standard without a repaint. Once i have time and find a space big enough i will repaint it, its not a big job as i've done 99% of all the hard work. Its annoying that my friend doesnt work for the RAF anymore, so i cant use his paint shop:(. I could paint it in your barn Tom :)

I have even done some work on the Ghia, sand blasted wheels, taken out a few dents. Its got to the point where i really need to take it off the road and strip it agian.

Saw it at OE as you came and parked next to us RR lot (was in the Mk2 loon). I was one of the people who was inspecting it good and proper when you first arrived, and I was then accused of being a woman for not having a low enough polo.

We on RR have decided that it needs another 2" out of the front FTW, only then will you be a proper man with a hairy chest

Ah yes i remember your polo, you had some cool cars in your line up. My friend and i agred the the Silver Datsun was the car of the show for us.

Yep i know it needs a bit more out the front, so it is fair to call a high riding girl :). I will take it a bit lower as i hate the way it sits lower at the back, its just not as easy as lowering it. I've had to pull out the inner suspension mounts to get it to where it is.

My other issue is it needs new tyres and i was going to put smart car tyres all round, but the problem is it touches the floor with lower profile tyre on the 13's :-D .
