Another mint (harhar) mandarine Polo, loving the work done to it and the ride height, off to get a lowering kit for mine now i reckon :)

real like this. re-reading this as a bit of inspiration to get on with mine.

any interior shots or is it all standad inside?

one question though...howd you get through the mot with the cut front springs?

Its all pretty stock inside for the moment.

If you cable tie the springs in place and my mot man knows it isnt a daily driver then its never a problem.

I had a photo shoot for this and my Ghia a few days ago. Its showing real cars in the real world and how much crap i have in my garage :). Both cars werent cleaned or anything, it was to help a friend out as i'm not one for being in mags.

Keep your eyes peeled for Retro Cars.

I haven't forgot about my cars, just haven't had time to do anything. All my free car time seems to be spent working on my bm's, all in the name of going sideways of course :).

Holy orange juice, thats sweet!! Beautiful car I love the retro wheels!

Cheers dude, glad you like it :)

A little up date on mine.

I haven't done much to it, well anything really,i have held back from sanding all the paint off. I had a paint booth lined up so i was just about to strip it and the numpty left his job at the paint shop, so i now need to find another place to paint it. So until then it will be staying as it is.

I've had a few people want to buy it, but there is noway i want to sell it. I've become attached to this little car.

I've been caught up with the day job and any of my spare time has been spent swapping diffs and stuff on my drift car.

A little update.

Both my cars are in this month Retro Cars Mag so go and check it out. Including a picture of me looking a numbty carring an E30 seat.

The Polo has been to Stoner Park, it came out from under its cover, started and drove there. Not a wash or anything. I still hate the paint and i will get it totally resprayed when i can. My painter chap has left his job, bloody selfish if you ask me :)

It also ripped the exhaust off on the way home, thats the second one now.

The ghia is just the same really, i've rolled that out to 2 shows this year so far.

One was last weekend to help launch Retro Cars mag. The ghia needs a bit of loving, i do have more parts for it, but they are stashed away with all the others.

My E36 has gone back to stock rims and needs bushes and suspension badly. It was getting 3" of lift last weekend, Shame no one got a pic of it with its front wheel way up in the air.

Right i've been on it agian to get it in a fit state to take to E38 on sat.

After it annoying me last year and other people, i have had a bash at lowering the front some more. I think i have got one side down by another cm, so i'll do the otherside tomorrow.

This has lead to a problem of the car being a tad close to the ground, so a bigger set of wheels is needed. I have had a set of wheels i had laying about machined to fit, i've painted them tonight (just finished). Fit tyres and add a few details to them tomorrow hopefully, then i'm praying they clear the arches.

It wont look anywhere near as good as i'd like it to (it still wears that bloody awful paint job), but at least it will be there to keep the MK1 count high.

Another late night, nothing like leaving things until the last minute.

The wheels are on, but with a few clearance issuse, so its up early and out with a file and a hammer tomorrow morning. It drives, but only in a straight line :), maybe lower at the front and bigger wheels wasnt a good idea.

Please show pictures of it in it's current state! Love this car so much. What suspension is it running?

After the usual rush for Edition i'd better give a little update on the beast.

I thought it needed some new wheels for edition, so i had a set of Mini rims sat in the garage that i brought for the car ages ago. I thought with some paint and new tyres they might look quite funky, bit like a modern teledial.

So i went to trial fit them, i knew the centres on the mini rims were too small, but i'd thought id see how close. They were very close to fittin and if a wastn so fussy, i probably could have bashed them on to fit. Me being me took them to a local metal place and the centres machined to 57.2 i went for .1 bigger just to make sure they went on. They are a perfect fit now.

I was going to paint them a deep cream with the holes painted orange, but as i went through the colour charts i spotted this colour, it was a brave choice, but i thought, what the hell, lets give it a whirl.

I shot the wheels late into thursday night, let them dry and then got the 145 smart car tyres off my spare ghia rims fitted. the wheels are 5 1/5 x 15 so there is a little bit of stretch, but plenty of tuck. I then spent friday night opainting the holes orange and trial fitting the wheels.

On first fit i could see it was a tad tight, but thought i'd take it for a spin, i managed to get down to the bottom of my road, then i had to reverse back as it wouldnt turn the corner.

So out with the hammers on saturday morning, i folded the front arches and had to higher it a tinny bit :( so i could drive it, it now has about half lock, but thats plenty for us dedicated dubbers.

I'm still not sure i'm loving the rims, i had loads of people ask me what they were and how i fitted them, so expect to see mini rims everywhere next season :).

I painted up the centre caps and had orange VW stickers made, but my mate and Tom thoguht i should go with my OG polo centres, so thats what i put on it.

I do like them in primer
