I have re-wired my head unit so it always stays on, however when i start the car it goes of for about a sec, how do I stop this,

yea the head unit is kool, looks classy too, not all flashy flashy like pioneers, not as good as mex-bt5000 but for £90 on ebay its a bargain.

mine doesnt, its an old shite headunit from a mk4, probably doesnt require as much power as yours.

you could fit a capacitor into the power input of the headunit (its is sometimes done as a quickfix to stop headunit from flashing when running at high volume (esp. noticeable at night) it might work, it might not but its worth a try

right, caps will stay charged to battery voltage at all times, they don't lose power

the headunit will not like the voltage drop when cranking, just as a try out, i would not use the cars poxy power and earth, try running a power and earth in 20 - 30 amp cable direct to the battery, this should stop your issues i think! also check your vehicle earth straps both to body and engine as these will cause bigger voltage drops when starting :)
