Hey guys...need advice.

I've spoke to a mate who's good with lowered cars and he said this sounds wrong.

I bought the car with a knocking that occurs when i turn the wheel left/right towards full lock. Before i bought it had the top mounts replaced...thats when this knocking started...previous owner was informed it's harmless and might go away over time as the mounts settle in. Does this sound right?

What else could it be? car is really low on coilovers.

I wanna double check incase it's something that shouldn't occur.

also anyone know of a decent garage in the Newcastle/Durham area that could deal with a lowered car?

Either your CV is gone or somethings knocking against the drive shaft.

Edit: just thinking about it now... when i bought mine it had a similar noise on full lock. Turned out the mechanic didnt tighten the whell bolts properly after he changed my Clutch. true story.... go check your bolts!

Checked the bolts straight away when i got the car...all good.

There's a thread on UK-polos.net where a few people have had a knocking thats the spring in thier coilovers?

Its both left and right..

I've got this knocking too, it happened as soon as i got my coilies fitted, with my mechanical knowledge[ being a mechanic/fitter by trade ] I'd say its probaly the cv joints under strain, or like others have said, the springs. had my 6n2 up on the ramps, nothings hitting the drive shafts. hope this helps. cheers
