After looking for weeks on ebay for a reasonably priced roof rack for the Mk2 box I decided to make my own.

found a ally supplier for the 3/4" tube and bought some battening for the slats and got to it with the pipe bender.

after a bit of swearing and bruised knuckles its finally done.

still got plenty of tube left if any one wants one made. haven't thought how much for yet but can be made to order.

that looks boss mate! my girlfriends dad has just had decking done so I'm thinking of jacking some of the left over wood for mine! :p

could be a cheap way of lowering a car with the weight of decking at least you could carry a fair bit of stuff there or have a BBQ on it

the finish isn't too bad. ended up buying a pipe bender as the spring inside method didn't work. still got some work to do on the clamps to make them look a bit more oem rather than home made.

Don't fancy making a desmo copy but could make you one like mine if you want?
