Not sure, you can always go to the dealer and ask for a G40 knock sensor though and they shoudl be able to find it...

Yeah ill have to go down that route if no-one knows...its just hard for me to get time to go into town only for them to tell me to come back in a few days when they have it in!

I don't understand why people always ask for part numbers. Just tell the dealers what part you want and they'll find the part number themselves. In fact, the only time I went into a vw dealers with a part number to order they refused to believe I had the right number and looked it up again anyway.

I'm asking for a part number because when i last rung VW they told me i need to know the part number, otherwise they couldn't help me.

And like i said previously, i havn't got time to go into town twice...1st time to get the part number and to order, 2nd time to go again to collect.

Fair enough. It's a totally stupid thing for them to ask for though, how is the average man in the street supposed to get the part number? The only way people on here will be able to tell you is if they have a pirate copy of ETKA, or just happen to have bought the same part before and have the receipt to hand. To be honest, I'd be pretty pissed off at the guy on the phone if I got that response!

Anyway, I'll look it up for you but wont be able to till I'm at home tonight.

Appreciate that man. Yeah i shared my thoughts with the guy on the phone when he said that. His response was "these forums usually know all the part numbers..."

Pff!

Cheers, Chris

part code according to ETKA is: 030 905 377

You need to get the phone number of a better VW dealer.
