I have had my New GT for a month now and since i've owned it i've had ball ache with my heatsheilds. The exhaust vibrates against it most of the time near the geatbox and handbrake cable, now the one on the centre section has worked its way loose and just sits on the exhuast..

Anyone got any pointers? can I remove the heatshields? Where can I get new ones and the fixings to hold them in place?

I've removed mine on the g40, you only seem to need them if you have a cat as the cat gets pretty hot.

How long ago did you remove it? Any problems since?

decatted exahusts should be fine without heat sheilds. I dont have one on my GT

Haha my heat shield rattles so badly at the moment but I really can't be bothered to take it off. I might get lucky and it could fall off.

I think its best to keep them and adjust the exhaust so it doesn't rattle against it. I know it sounds very annoying but a bit of perseverance will pay off.

i removed mine on my old gt it had a cat pipe but i bashed the insides out! never had a problem with it and the exhaust sat higher due to being a full custom job!
