coilies should be on their way soon, was wondering if anyoine had fitting them theirselves and if so any problems or tips?????

getting silly quotes to fit them atm so looking to go down the DIY route!

had quotes of upto 350!!! and some at around the 150 mark!

friend fitted some to his 200sx drift car and thety were fine so very tempted to do it with his help!

jus wondering if many here had done the same with their dubs!

I will be attempting to fit a set of coilies to a mk5 in a week or two - am i right in thinking this will be far easier than changing mk3 suspension?

Is there anyone who's done it yet? Sorry to hijack the thread mate, but theres no point in two threads asking the same question!

very easy. can be done in less than 2 hours

All you're doing is undoing bolts... just remember what order the top mount assemblies came apart in and youll piss it.

yes coilovers are easy just take old shocks out and replace with new ones, unless you have the sport suspensions then you will need certain equipments etc which will take longer.

i didn't use one on both cars i have messed with!

an extra pair of hands tho helps!

plenty of wd40 mate is a must, if you are dealing with any stiff bolts....some of these bots holding the suspension may not have been touched sice leaving the factiory and will have accumulated a load of grime and rust over the years!

also if your struggling to free a bolt, its alwalys good to slide over the end of your wheels brace onto the ratchet to give a bit more leverage to crack any pesky bolts!

me and walschc now only too well how seized bolts can turn fitting front coilovers into a 5 hour affair!

just measure equally at each end so it sits level either side!

set it as low as you like!

and make sure you lubricate the coilovers to prevent seizing and do this regualrly
