Removing mk 3 doors

Featured Replies

do you simply knock the pin out with a hammer?

also, if so how difficult is it to get the clip back onto the pin when putting them back on?

cheers

if you mean a mk3, made between 1991 and 1994, the doors bolt to the car.

He means the bit that stops the door from opening too wide I think? My dad did it on mine and I wasn't paying any attention but I think he just used some mole grips to push it out and similar to clip it back on. But as I say I was busy doing other things so wasn't paying much attention.

ahh forgot about them, havnt had them on my cars for years now. they can just be tapped out with a hammer from memory

I guess you mean the check straps. They should just tap out with a hammer. If they don,t you can always grind of the arm and get some new ones. If memory serves me correctly there aren't very expensive to get from VW.

I couldn't get mine out with hammering them so I just cut them off
