Annoying Cigarette Lighter Socket

Featured Replies

I've got a 95 Polo, and the problem I have is that my various cigarette lighter powered devices won't stay in the socket.. suich as TomTom or MP3 chargers..

They either spring straight back out of the socket, or fit very, very loosely..

Just wondered if there is anything I can do.. I think I need a deeper socket, is there any way I can "upgrade" it..? :? Or am I stuck with it? All these plugs work fine in various different cars.. just not mine.

Bloody Thing :|

Thanks,

Dave.

Buy a new fag lighter.. universal ones are only a few quid.

Ta.. already sorted it now.. never realised there were universals available. Five quid from the local shop, and an hour or so's worth of fiddling we're sorted :)

Dave.

Your kinda lucky, if i use the fag lighter in the MK3, when it pops out it flies under the passenger seat,

sometimes on it, dunno how I've not crashed trying to find it, not the sort of thing you do often when you know about it.

I'd be more worried about it setting fire to the carpet!
