Wiring loom

Featured Replies

Hiya,

I've got a GT 3f lump in my MK1 golf but the rev counter has never worked, when i bought the engine it had already been converted,

I've traced the rev counter feed and it connects to the polo loom at the multi-plug that supplies feed for the fuel pump, is this correct?

as it stands the red/yellow wire fuel pump

red/black wire rev-counter

yellow/white has been cut off? (where does this go on a polo)

I thought the rev-counter feed should come from the green wire on the hall sensor?, I've also heard theres a tao feed for rev-counter from ecu? if this is correct then what should the wire that is currently connect to the rev-counter be connected 2??

searched loads of topic's on here, cant find wiring diagrams anywhere?

as you can see I'm in a write pickle! lol its driving me nuts sorted eveything other than this! grr

help, Rich

I'll have a look at mine. I've got the 1.3 SPI, but the wire colours should be the same. Mine is connected into the Golf loom at the old coil connector, which is the one with 2 spade terminals spaced about 20mm apart.

cheers fella, that would be gr8

It's a thin green wire with a black stripe. I forgot to check which colour wire it connects to, but it's one of the two that went to the coil +ve side.

the rev counter signal doesn't come from the hall sensor directly, it comes from the the hall senor to the ecu then the number of 'pulses' is diveded by 2 then comes out of the ecu to the dashboard loom

i will try to dig up some wiring diagrams and have a look into it
