I'm with Brentacre. They charge nothing extra for any modifications to suspension, wheels, brakes, bodywork, gearbox etc. The premium only goes up if power output rises (i.e. engine modifications). But obviously there are many companies out there who do charge for modifications and the charges vary from company to company.

Brentacre also have this useful way of dealing with increased power. I'm with Brentacre and my valver has a standard engine, but the policy sets a power limit of 110bhp. So if I do start to fiddle with the engine, I can do so just as long as the power doesn't go above that 110. If it does go above that, then I would need to go back to Brentacre and they would work out how much extra they would charge.

Bit gutted just rang up CIS who I'm with at the moment and they wont insure modified vehicles... not even alloys :s
