maybe a 4-2-1 manifold and a decent fast road cam might see 90bhp

A proper performance exhaust rather than just a backbox. Wee bit of headwork.

ahh but u see its the votex item, meaning it has been developed by VW and it has been developed to give the same effect as a straight through exhaust.... or so iv been told

Really? Find that hard to believe, not saying your lying but seems odd.

Either way, headwork is good.

yeh its just what i was told

the theory behind it is that VW/VOTEX had unlimited funding to develope it when compared to most aftermarket systems

i would probably think it was BS if i was you but it certainly makes a big difrence to the car

what kind of head work?

Depends how much you've got to spend...

You could just get the ports opened up, or you could go to the extent of getting a big valve head built.

well tbh i dont have very much monies as i am starting an apprenticeship in joinery and make a couple of pence per month!

how difficult is opening the ports up? could it be done by myself or would it have to be a pro?

cylinder head porting is quite a skilled job, but it's not impossible if you have the right tools available, to be honest if you dont jave the right tooling available to you it's probably cheaper to just pay somobidy to do it....

oh and by the way, opening up the ports wont gain you anything on this head
