Orange indicators with the parking lights in them are the best. Thats what I always have to :p

Here's a pic of my mk1 golf seats that I fitted as a first mod to the car. Old, worn, fixed and welded to fit them..But worth the work compared to the original dinner-chairs on it.

how easy was it to fit the front and back seats from the mk1 golf? i was looking at doing this to my mk2 saloon, but wasnt sure how the backs would sit.

Front: Golf's seat legs are longer in the back than on polo. Passenger seat: I cut of about an inch of the legs and welded them back to the right angle. Driver: I wanted to keep the Polo's hight-adjustment, so I took the seats (golf and polos) apart, grinded of all the parts of the seat frames and welded golf parts to polo frame..bit of work. The seat backsrests are switchable directly.

Back: Well, problem is that polo's original seats are wider(!) than mk1 golfs, at least the top part. I boltes it through to the loggage compartment to the right place and then put grey fabric to the side so it'll look ok. Lower part: i took the cushoin of the seat frame and put the mk1 cushion and cover on the polo frame. Needed some cutting nad fitting and still not 'perfect'. They fit now reasonably ok, at least looks better than different coloured stock seats.

will the fronts fit without cutting the long legs?

^No, because legs won't slide in the 'slots' 'cause their wrong position.

Thanks! Got the trim finally sorted out (stripped off the paint) and got the fender lips rolled too at the back. I'd like to lower it a bit on the front but the subframe connector is already preeeetty low..

Is that an OEM 2F Derby badge or a cut and glue/reproduction? I've seen the mk2 Derby badges over in Germany, but never seen a mk3 one.

It is an OEM VW Part, but not from the 2f Derby - wich was alway´s called Polo.

This one come´s form the Polo Classic, sold in Mexico!

Plans for the future are open: track toy with some radical atkins-diet, cam+headwork and such OR G40 conversion, rollcage.. or just keep as it is: a fun budget car. Wife will not sit in the car, and no question that she'd drive it so a a little more convenient 2nd car will be bought to serve and a daily driver before next winter.
