well i use KU31s aswell, only had mine lift off oversteer badly once on a greasy round about in carlisle! have you checked your tyre pressures? even if they are at factory setting then you could drop a few PSi out of the back or maybe put a couple of psi more in the front.

Engine braking is braking. Its a mechanical device to slow the front wheels down unnaturally fast by friction. That is braking,exactly the same as light front axle friction braking. Thats my view and experience,you have yours,stay safe and enjoy.

I agree with tyre pressures,though. You can adjust a cars balance to a notable degree,with about 10psi safe to play with. I usually have them pretty hard and even,with 30psi in the front and 28psi in the back. Good for efficiency,handling is secure but a little skittish in the dry,and can be a bit two-tier in the wet. Tyres are another factor,and whilst i found Kumho's reasonably good on the front,I've spun two cars with them on the light back axle - so much do i believe they're no good for rear wheels of a front engined car,i'll no longer fit them on the back axle of any such car. Except maybe a classic RS2000 for fun..

i still dont think it comes down to the kumho's my dad has been running them on our road rally cars for the last 3 years {pug 306 xsi, fiesta rs, mk2 astra} and i have run them on my last 2 road cars {2.0 tipo, mk2 rocco} with no problems at all i think it is something else.

Even a light shunt sideways could bend/relocate the rear axle, maybe that?

Yeah,rear tracking would do it.

Whether it be rear beam bushes or a bent rear beam from clouting a kerb,that'd do it.

Sounds nicely set-up to me - nothing worse than understeer.
