wondering what tyre i should be puttin on them ????

what tyre do i need for it not to shred the arches?

195/40 or 195/45s would look pretty damn good on a 7J me thinks.

I wouldn't put 205s on a Mk3 Polo there is a point where there is too much tyre... ie when its wet and you find yourself aquaplaning everywhere.

195/45 is only 2.5% different to the rolling radius of your standard tyres, keeping gearing and speedo readings accurate.

what about 185/50/14 or 175/50/14... slight stretch, not too wide, shouldnt make too much difference to rolling radius.

Theres a reason people run stretched tyres when they have wide wheels. That reason is so they don't foul the arches. Depending on offsets you might get away with 195/45. I really doubt you'll get a 205 under the standard arches though. Specially if its lowered some.

erm i have 195/45/14 on my 14x8 borbet t's so that wrk with nice strech

sorry mk4 6n tho and arches have be pulled by about a inch

So your arches are like 30-40mm narrower than that 6n above.

You're going to need stretch. Otherwise its archwork. Even with the cheap and plentiful 185x55x14s (indicated 48.7@50mph) you're going to have problems on the front.

185x50 (indicated 50.4@50mph) is probably your best bet,given the situ.

What you really need though,with an indicated speedo reading of 51.3@50mph and a tidy arch-fit,are 175x50x14s..

I'm running a set of bbs rms?not to sure on actual type but thats what I'm told . ne ways mine are 14 *7j and I'm running 195/45 speedo says 50 and I'm doin 52 according to sat nav. as to fit they sit under the arch so ne lower and they will rub hope some help came of that :-)

I've never seen a set of 14" RM's. I don't think they ever came in 14"

as i said i have no idea really what they are but their form around 89 i think as that is stamped on them i will try to get pictures

i dunno i reckon with the right wheel stretching is ok as long as you dont mind the loss of grip

195 onto an 8 is a very good combination for handling, according to G40NUT.

i quite believe that to be true..

coz people buy lower profile to have less flex in the sidewall..

a stretch is just a cool way to do it
