Chrome steelies? could be a stupid idea but then again there have been alot of stupid ideas go right? has anyone ever seen em or thought about it?

could get chrome paint and try that out, and if it don't look good strip it off

dont think you can chrome steelies, it wont adhere to the surface, just get them powdercoated a wicked colour, looks awesome

yeh would be cool, i was thinkin cosmic green to match the car, would be a bit different. iv already sprayed one steelie white to see what that would look like.

got some pics with it on the car but the wheel was the worng of set, (didnt check when i was at the scrappers) so the tyre is a bit to big.

i think it could be done if they were stripped back... bu i agree with DubGarry it would be alot better powder coated a lairy colour

I'm sure if you spoke to a chromeing specialist, they'd be able to chrome plate them, prob quite pricey tho... Nickel plating would be nearly as shiney, and cheaper. Have a look in the yellow pages....

I had chromed wellers on my truck. Looked the bollocks until I realised they were buckled :(

cant you get chrome paint or something like that? if so just do that...

Red and green = WRONG! i had a mate who did his car out with green lighting and interior bits, its looked shockingly bad. I'd say white will look good against green.

Course you can chrome-plate steelies,and many do - look in the back of classic car magazines and you'll see plenty of people offering to do them. Air-cooled VW wheels are available in chrome from new. And part of the wheel can still be painted - so you can have just a chrome-plated rim,which would look like a split rim. Its a good idea,but hardly a new one - from wires to pressed,chrome plated steelies used to be popular on the posh motors of yesteryear. I doubt it'd be an Ayrton a wheel,though.

obviously the paint isn't going to be overly like real chroming, but its the closet your gonna get with out spending £££

well i did have the idea of getting 4 space savers need getting them chromed

what about green with a white stripe, would look proper class

or do them cream, would be a bitch to keep clean

I painted my G-laderseite ARB block metal bits with chrome effect spray paint.

It's shit. Aluminium flash coat or something would be better, a nice satin silver.

They arnt very good pictures and look alot better without the black centers imo

Oh yeah, i forgot to add, if your going with white, be prepared to be cleaning them every bastarding week! its a joke how much brake dust and crap they show up! Seriously i washed the car, went for a drive and they looked as if they hadn't seen water! it was a joke.
