DSC02974.jpg

Model: 1986 VW Polo Classic Formel E

Engine: 1.3

Suspension: PhilJ 60/40 kit + lowering caps

Brakes: Standard

Wheels and Tyres: 14x6 P-Slots, Yoko A539 185/50/14

Exterior Styling: Standard 8-) (should really sort out matching mirrors though!)

Interior Styling: Crappy mountney steering wheel

ICE and Security: CD Player

Comments: I bought the loon for the crazy some of £50. I wasn't exactly sure what to do with it but after putting it through an MOT she turned out to be a sound little runner so I've used her daily for the last couple of months. Also handy to have around for 'reference purposes' while working on the mk1!

I've spend more on the tyres than on everything else for the car

Ah, i see me and this car have already met then. The plan was that i was gunna nick the engine and the boot spoiler, never did manage it :-(

Yup mate this is the one!

Daaaaaaamn!

Ever since selling it I've been wanting another one! Best memory in that car was when it beat my mates 1.2 16V corsa to 60, he was seriously unhappy, even more so when i told him how much it cost me!

Yet another very tidy saloon.

£50 eh? Crikey thats a bargain!

Just noticed its a Formel E, does it have SSA and more importantly does it work?

Still a sound runner then? This was by far the most reliable car i've ever owned!

Give me a shout when you're ready to get rid, i wouldnt mind owning it for a 3rd time

Yup sound as you like, only had a few minor issues with the carb (as always) and needed a new coil a few weeks ago. I love cheap motoring!

I'll bear that in mind mate but I really don't think I could buy anything better with what I'd get for it :) If the engine goes bang I'll just put her into storage and G it in a few years...

that is lovely :-D and fancy that iv got one as a runabout while i do my mk1 so

SNAP!

both are cars of the past but their gonna be the future too ;)

i dont know but the 1.3 out of my crashed 87 squareback would for £50! hinting ;)

  • Author

mk2 lump will not fit mate, most of golf engines are talkblocks and mk1-3 polos are only equipped for shortblock lumps without serious modification

  • 1 year later...
