I have lowerd my car all round .. Not by a massive amount .. just to harden the springs

I have a snapped a coil so it is banging around at the front and has wrecked my CV joint ..

I have also stripped the rear out so it is lower at the front than the rear .. Gives it more steering too..

Iff i was to put standard springs back onthe front as i cant really afford to buy a new set of lowering ones do you think my Mk3 will oversteer ridiculously ..

I origionally was running standards on the front and harder on the rear to induce oversteer which was good ..

Do you think putting standards back on the front will make my back end step out all the time or is it worth a try ?

With the springs being longer do you also think it will level out my ride height too as it is low at the front in comparison to the back ..

Shouldn't be to bad in the dry, but in the wet it might be a bit of a bastard. I know mine was when it was like that. But mine was stupidly hard, like really really stupid hard. You get used to it after a while. Can be fun if you;ve got alot of space to yourself and its a bit damp

I'd say its more liely to make you car understeer like a whore,

if you have a massive reverse rake then all the weight of the car will be tipping backwards thus lightening the front=understeer

i can also see the theory behind the oversteer too as the back will be stiffer

i say run it but take it easy till you can get a new set of springs

Ahh mine is awful in the wet with stupidly hard springs on also it understears so much .. The 15" wide wheels diddnt help either .

Having no weight in the back made it a little better .. I'm thinking softer on the front (standard springs) will induce front end grip which isnt a problem with the Mk3 as they naturally understeer ..

This theory of the car tilting backwards (Rob Stlyz) could also come into effect however .My theory is based upon a even distribution of weight throughout the vehicle.

Hopefully it isnt too bad i know it was good when i had the rear seats in but I'm scared il be doing dohnuts everywere coming off of roundabouts .. suprisingly taking the rear seats out induced alot more steering than i would of expected its alot easier to get the back end out . WIll have take it easy .

Front camber and caster maywell have to be used or even a little bit of rear to stoop it kicking out .

Will have to change the front coils this weekend and find out what happens will keep people posted .

I had stock shocks, and 80mm springs at the front and 350lb/inch rear springs with cup car shocks. Had no interior either bar the front seats and dash. Was a slut and set up in probably the worst way ever, but, it was fun to drive when you had space to slide about and be a tit. Not something I'd recommend though. Only a matter of time before a wet day ends in missery.
