Does anyone know how to tell if the steering damper is pwned? Mine seemed to be quite stiff compared to others so I've taken it off to have a look at it, it's not leaking oil or anything but there does seem to be the smallest amount of play in it when it's pushed in an out

Would you recommend replacing this whilst I've got an empty engine bay, has anyone else had one seize up on them and if so is going stiff a symptom of this?

see if the rod extents smoothly and retracts as you would expect a damper to. If it's difficult or loose expecially in one place then it might need replacing.

OK honey, cheers. It is a little stiff and as I said there's a bit of play before it 'bites' so I think it's going to be best to replace it.
