Suspension self-locking bolts (mk4 polo)

Featured Replies

Right - got some shocks and springs for lowering - but from looking at the Haynes I know that some of the nuts (the 2 that bolt the strut to the hub at the front) are self-locking nuts and therefore I'll need new ones when I change the suspension. GSF tell me they don't have them, and were unhelpful when I asked where I could get them from. Couldn't find them in Halfrauds, and therefore I'm stuck.

I think maybe the rear lower nut is self-locking too.

Help?

Have you tried Volkswagen? I'd be very surprised if they don't stock them.

D'oh!

Thanks Kam - once again the obvious answer slaps me in the face like a damp haddock.

Nop. There not.

VW do stock the ones you need tho as it is good to replace them while your there. I only changed one bolt and one nut on each side when i fitted my coilovers as that is all the local dealer had at the time. So i was able to re use the others no problem.

You had better hope I have forgot about damp haddock before Polo Show or you'll be waking up to lots in your tent! Unless your a wimp again and bugger off early!
