as per the title i have some 6x13 deep dish rims and would like a tyre profile to loo kjust sweet thinking of 175/50 but whats your opion oh yeah its to go on my mk1 golf thats lowered about 70mm

I had 175/50s and they looked pimp and performed well. So 175/50s for me!

165x55x13s are almost as low profile,1% better gearing,and you'd get some reasonable stretch.

I had both 165/55/13 and 175/50/13 and they maybe a very similar profile but the 175/50s look alot lower profile and better imo. My 165/55s look a considerable amount more chunky.
