If it was me I'd reccomend a stealth shelf so the speakers arent on show therefore less likely to be broken into.

why would you want 4? 6x9s arent great at the best of times let alone 4 of them!

honestly i think that you would be better off saving the money and getting a cheap sub amp package and even if you did do it i think the parcel shelf would look far too crowded

but saying that i know people who have done it and it sounded ok

yea it would fit (from me thinking what my cheap ones look like in comparrison to size) but as tomadomeit said a steal shelf would be advisable depending where you live lol

built my own shelf, and sank 4 6x9s in it, then coverd over the top of them in a england flag, looks well, and no theaving chavs no there under there.

i did it in a mk3 square and made a stealth shelf. sounded alright as well as there was no bass going to them and only to the subs.

i got a pair of the vibe qb69's in my shelf, there quite bass'y for a set of 6x9s there the silver rectangle 6x9s.

sorry to semi change the subject, how do stealth shelfs work? curious, is it just material going over the speakers so you cant see them?

Just buy a sub and amp, the standard speakers in the mk4 are pretty good and with the sub and amp it sounds off the rictor!!

The 6x9s screw into some wood the same shape as the parcel shelf and jus felt over the top so it just looks standard
