6n rubbin at the back on driver side ??

Featured Replies

Is it me or does every 6n polo rub on the rear passenger side. I've looked at a few 6n's with 15inch wheels and I've noticed that the rear right hand side has had rubbin just where the 16v or normal cl bumper starts at the top (what i mean is that its not the arch but more the bumper). Obviously if the car is low its going to do tht but its 90% the right that rubs e.g. when turnin corners or on bumpy roads etc)

mines does it alot now aswel..and i think gugz of this forum was sayin he gets it on the right side aswel with his keskins..my cusins got a 6n with rials and he's had rubbin on the right.

anyway to prevent this ..by the way I'm on budget coilovers and my cusins is on 60/80 suspension kit

?? :?

many thanks

thinmk its something to do with weight distribution and that they were designed as l/h/d so when a r/h/d set up is used it puts the weights all to cock.

maybe a very small suspension assistor on that side... not enough for it to adjust the heights of the rear but enough to stiffen the spring

petrol tanks on that side may explain the weight difference?

petrol tanks in the middle... just the filler that runs up that way

mine rubs on the offside rear before anywhere else as well

and mine :(

but thats cos I've got 9's

everywhere rubs :D

uwww arent we something rolling on nines ay... and i think i would fit the spacer shim i mentioned i did mine today.. although it is std height and wheels atm lol but it is alot firmer at that corner :retard::D

fitting the rings I'm on about wont lift the car if you get correct sized ones they are only get ones that are big. you can get narow ones that will stiffen your spring as the centre of the spring is often the stiffest...

if you take a really really careful look, you'll notice that the right wheel pops out of the arch a tiiiny bit more than the left side...

i've noticed that on all 6n polos :?

dont know why tho

wooooow so it does lol them wonky germans...

Its not just the 6n, 6n2 sits funny even when its standard..one side is lower than the other, just slightly. Mine will always rub on the offside first too.

I'd have to agree with gugz the right wheel does sit out a lil more than the left:s mayb the germans got it wrong lollll

or maybe all of you have hit the curb

yep i noticed that my offside sticks out further, i was startin to worry that my car had been shunted by a previous owner!!, although mine seems to always rub on the nearside first? maybe my coilies need adjusting again
