possibly speeding, need help

Featured Replies

right so i went passed a camera last night, twice.

30 camera, think i was doing 35 both times..

yesi know it was wrong, I'm not gnna claim it wasnt just because it was midnight and there was nowt on the road.

this is a main road, 2 lanes at this point, yet 30 limit .....

but anyway

i didnt see it flash either time, but.

in first year of driving, so just need to know something.

this 14 days until i get a NIP in the post, i hear a lot of people saying this is only valid if your the owner at the corredct address etc.

well its my mums car which I'm insured on,

so is the 14 days limit still valid as i am still at this address ?

or

is it not because I'm not the registered keeper of the car.

i wouldnt worry about it mate. half of the fixed cameras out there either aint on or dont have film, they also allow an error margin so you can go through at 35 as car speedos arent the most accurate anyway.

when the form comes through it will ask for who was driving and to put their details down

You shouldn't have any problems m

phew, went passed again today. its after i turn onto the road, and for safety i gave it some (it was an empty road so ssshh) and only just hit 30 before it. therefore when i wasnt giving it that much other nigth i wont have hit over 35/ sweeeet.

just for my/anyone elses info though, anyone know about the 14 day rule malarky ?

if the car isnt even in your name your mum i presume?? will get the letter. She may take your points for you??? And if it doesnt flash at night it wont have seen you lol, its too dark to take a picture.

they have 14 days to send you the NIP. But as someone said, if the car is in your mum's name then it'll come addressed to her. She can either take the points or contest it and say it was you driving and then you admit to it and take the points.

I'm still sweating out my 14 days from going through some new SPECS cameras in my g40 on the m60 on the way to tatton park nearly two weeks ago. Nothing has arrived yet so hopefully the cameras weren't turned on yet.

You should be fine ...

I had a camera flash at me and nothing came through .. they flash twice iff they have film and once iff they dont ..

Say a road has 10 speed cameras on it .. 3 will have film ... the swap the film form camera to camera on a rotation ..

If it doesn't flash it hasnt caught you. End of.

It's normally because they don't have film in them
