They're meant to reduce the effects of torque steer. They are found on G40's and I think GT's. NOt a lot of torque going on in a 1.0 SPI, tbh.

Look under the steering rack. It mounts below the left hand rack bracket and goes across to the other end of the rack where the steering arms connect to it.

Yeah I would.

As has been mentioned. They were found on GTs and G40s. Not too hard to retro-fit to another model though.

They make a MASSIVE difference imo, my lowered 1.0 was all over the road on any little bump.. And no the suspension/steering wasn't shagged!

Naff all torque in the 1.0L but it still spins the wheels when shifting to second at 25Mph + does into 3rd at around 45Mph too ..

It only went everywhere on bumps as it just ragged the steering wheel out of your hands.. no damping you see!

i fitted one to our 1300....seemed to improve things alot, more stable and sure footed feeling ,well worth the £12 off ebay anyway

Haha checking the tyres there slightlywarn but still i deff get steering torque when changing through gears ..

Mine spins 2nd up no problem but I have shite 155/70-13 Michelin "eco" tyres

my old mk2 square 1.0 would wheelspin from first to second it u redlined it and didnt let off the accelerator while u changed haha
