I was changing my wheels over tonight when the

locking wheel nut key snapped in half and sent my

flying on my fat ass....How do i get the 2 remaining

locking nuts off with no key and without damaging

my BBS RA's?

Ther is some special sockets u can buy that cut into the bolt allowing you to get it off, but for some reason the name escapes me.

are these genuine VW locking nuts? If so you can buy a new key from the dealer. The original key will have a letter or number stamped in so you can get the right one. If not, you can buy locking wheel nut removal kits.

what shape key was it? one of the cheapo ones with three circles in a triangle formation?if so they are fairly easy to get hold of. there is also a kit on ebay for removing locking wheel nuts if you have lost or broken the key, but I've no idea how good it is. and finally if you know the make and serial no of the set you can contact the manufacturer and they will be able to supply a new one

i wouldnt bother with the kits for removing them cos i had a similar problem and it was just a waste of 10 quid!!

take it to a garage you trust, theyll whip em off in seconds for u

Just smacked an old tight fitting socket over them and they un-did okay

This is what people are on about, kinda like an inside out easy-out kit, don't have a clue how well it'll work though.

Thats all i do,whack a old 17 or18mm socket over them and undo, thats exactly how the garage would do it.

hammer and small chisel is how garage got mine off a while back when i snapped the vw 3 pin style one
