Right, here's my little rant of the week but this time I thought i'd put it on here as i'm sure people on here have had to make claims a lot also...*not saying you're all bad drivers *

My 91 GT coupe was stolen two weeks after I got it from the back of where I live... proper pissed but thought well insurance will sort me out so i'll be able to look for a car in a few weeks......WRONG....it's been over two months now and i'm seriously at the end of my tether.

Rang up on the day I found out....police etc blah blah blah....so the insurers get their salvage people to come collect the car as it was also burnt out so it can be assessed...when they go to get it it had been re-stolen!!! ring up council and police...they had no records of any cars going from where mine had sat and said that the local travelling community most probably took it for scrap...

car is now classed as a total loss so they get me to send in all my details and papershizzle too.....by this time two weeks have passed...V5 sent back as i hadn't signed it ...my bad but fill in the box they tell me...off it goes again..then a week later..."you signed this box you need to sign that box blah blah blah"

so I re-sign it...send and also reject an offer for £295 which would give me £200....which is ridiculous...also sent them some print screens of gt's of same milage year for sale between £600-800....my car was worth £600 I am supposed to be covered for £300 of audio equipment too...

Ring up and they say they cannot offer me more as need more evidence as the print screens were for slightly modded gt's......by this point i'm proper pissed as it's been over two months now....so now I have to send more prints of standard gt's for sale...

So all in all I have spent £150 insurance deposit....£140 in mothly direct debits with another of £70 coming out just before edish38....

So that's £360...and I only had the car for two weeks!!!!!

Am I wrong for wanting £500-600 for my car and £200 for my stereo...what can I do???

They keep fobbing me off and what i have wrote is only a small part of it as they try and talk down on the phone...conveniently lose my file for a few days and say the engineer isn't there when I ring...I also spent £15 in call to them last month...like 3 hours on the phone man!!!

So really what can I do...I need some help as the longer this takes the more I am out of pocket...and my stress levels are at breaking point!!!!

My insurance claim took two years against an uninsured driver.

mines not finished yet, awaiting compensation for a chauffeur hitting my car, and injuries, happened last august :(

the injuries wont ever heal properly apparently

Yeah my back is still fudged from my accident, I have to sit bolt upright in seats. I sometimes have back pains whilst walking around. I didn't even get back my costs for being involved in the accident.

So has anybody been treated like a complete tool....i need to get this sorted asap.........

Some guy hit me last year august! Gone to Solicitors last month. So its already been over a year. Insurance Companies are gay.

I'm quite sure your not in the wrong mate, You should get some advice from a Solicitors, They might cost a bit but the advice is decent. When you call up the insurance company make sure you speak to the same person, otherwise your file gets handed from person to person, and you get no where. I get angry at them over the phone, I also wrote a heated letter to the Dept. as a whole! Make sure you stand your ground.

You all want to try new insurance companies. I got my pay out 4 my polo 10am the day after my accident (which was a little dodgy). And the moped guy got £5k within a month or so, but then again he could still go after me personally for money yet.

Lol i was with RAC. they scrap yard just sent me a envelope and told me to send my documents off when i got them together lol.
