Dunno,dunno,i wouldnt.

I'd get on the net and find someone selling new wheelbolts (a place called MotorServ sells them here,dunno if they have other branches),and ask if they have seperate collared/two-piece wheel bolts. The distance between the threads is easiest measured by measuring ten of them,including a gap on one end,and dividing ten by the amount of mm's.

But the supplier should be able to hold one against a standard bolt and decide which one you need.

I'd not use a standard locking bolt,as it wont line up fully,so you've got three wobbles and a crooked low-torque gripping the wheel with about 5% of its supposed surface area - i should think it'd be safe enough but it doesnt sound ideal to me..

i've heard good and bad about wobble bolts, depends what you're gna do with the car really

basically its a normal bolt where the collar is seperate and fits like a washer but the center is too big for the diameter of the bolt. This gap provides the wobble.

You can buy locking wobble wheel nuts.

However in theory - If you can find a locking wheel bolt with a completely flat collar, to which you can put your 'wobbling collar' then you could use normal bolts

Thats the kind of thing I needed to hear.

I know people say there not good and dangerous but if they were as dangerous as people make out surely you wouldn't be allowed to sell them? Due to health and safety and all that rubbish?

In theory a wobbly bolt is fine.All they do is secure a washer off-centre.

My mates into Fiat's and they are 4x98 PCD. They all run 4x100 wheels with WB's and they are fine

I was speaking to a guy who is a proper BBS whore and loves his wide rims and narrow tyres. He reckons that the only way you'll pop off a stretched tyre is if it barely seals when it goes on cause its stretched that much or you run them a bit to flat. He explained how tyres are made and why its safe to stretch them.

Sure they aren't intened for streching but then again G40s aren't intended to run 200bhp and there not meant to be run half inch from the ground. But people still do it.

I'd like to point out that my concern isnt with using four wobble bolts,as they're likely almost as strong,and i doubt the collar is the weakest link anyway - its with using three of them,and nipping the fourth hole with a bolt that wont seat.

Just Picking up an oldish thread..

How far out can you go with wobble bolts? Is just 2mm each way for example, a 4x100 hub could use 4x98 to 4x102 or could they work with Audi/Ford wheels which are 4x108?

And would they be safe enough to use on a track day car?
